February, 2014. For the second time in between 8 days a heavy earthquake shaked the Ionian Islands with the epicenter in Kefalonia. Officially Kefalonia declared a state of emergency. Already at the 26 of January a seism with power of 5,9 made considerable damages. In Kefalonia 7 people got slightly injured on that day. \u00a0 Also in Lefkada the trembling was noticable, as eyewitnesses are reporting. Marilyne Neyrolles, a french volunteer in Lefkada is telling: &#8220;Last Sunday it was my first earthquake in my life, because we don\u00b4t have them in France. I was very afraid&#8230;&#8221; \u00a0 The Ionian Islands are a common region for earthquakes. 1953 an earthquake with 7,2 Richter destroyed big parts of Zakynthos, Ithaka and Kefalonia. Big damages also in Lefkada were caused by the earthquake in 2003 which was 6,4 Richter.
